The second grand slam of 2017 tennis calendar, French Open 2017 tennis championship will be starting a week later than its usual start as Round 1 matches begins on 28th May and will be played through to 11 June with the mens final taking place on Sunday, 11th June. There is a different feel to this year’s competition as 9 time winner Rafael Nadal is not going into the competition as favourite after some poor performances and lack of form of Novak Djokovic makes this year’s mens compeition as open as it has ever been in last 10 to 12 years.
ITV will be broadcasting french open live in United Kingdom while EuroSport 1 and EuroSport 2 will have entire French Open championship 2016 coverage in most of European countries. Stan Wawrinka defeated Novak Djokovic in the mens singles final by [6-4] [4-6] [3-6] [4-6], Wawrinka came back strong after losing the first set and won the next three sets to pull up a surprise result and won the French Open title.
while Sarena Williams overpowered Lucie Safarova in the women singles finals with a [6-3] [6-7] [6-2] scoreline and won his 20th grand slam title which put her second in the all time list of women’s category just two behind Steffi Grafs 22 major titles.
